With a remarkable career spanning 35 years, Shelley is a World Record breaking Champion Powerboat Racer where she has made a significant impact in the competitive realm of powerboat racing, both from the driver’s seat and as a manager of international teams leading them to win World Championships.

In addition to her accomplishments in racing career she has built several thriving businesses and established herself as a professional and experienced broadcaster. Shelley excels in event management, coordinating high-profile gatherings with seamless precision. Her organizational skills, vibrant personality and keen attention to detail ensure that every occasion she oversees—whether a corporate event, managing a sports team to success or presenting —its a resounding success.

Career Milestones

Here's a breakdown of key milestones in Shelley’s career:

Early Racing Career (2005-2008)

Shelley won her first title in the British Honda Championships, competing in the highly competitive, male dominated, one-design class. She was then recruited by the Lucas Oil Powerboat team in the U.S., making history as the first woman to compete in the Powerboat P1 Evolution World Championship, where she finished on the podium.

International Success and All-Female Team (2009-2010)

Shelley led an all-female team in the International World Series of P1 Superstock, competing against all male teams and striving for podium finishes.

Racing Highlights

Setback and Recovery (2011-2015)

After a near-fatal racing accident in 2010 that caused her to take a 5-year break from racing, Shelley focused on her recovery and later returned to the sport.

Triumphant Return to Racing (2016-2017)

Shelley made a full-time return to racing and claimed victory in her class, securing second overall in the Cowes Torquay Cowes Marathon race, which made her the highest-ranked female finisher. She also set a world record with her team, on Lake Coniston and earned the prestigious K7 Gold Star for reaching 114mph there. She has since received the Lady of the Lake award three times.

Team Management and Mentorship (2018–present)

XCAT World Championship, Class One, E1 Series & Guinness World Records Shelley transitioned into the role of International Team Manager, mentoring and preparing elite athletes and teams for the demanding world of powerboat racing and extreme sports. She led a stunt kite-surfing team to achieve a Guinness World Record in 2025.

Recruited again to manage Team GB in the XCAT World Championship, she guided them to victory as World Champions. Shelley has also played a key role in the E1 Series as an ambassador promoting women in motorsport and currently serves as the lead female broadcaster for ITV4 and international networks.

Business, Media, and Charity

Shelley runs a successful family bridal wear business, now in its 49th year. She has presented for major outlets like Sky Sports, CBS America, and BBC Radio and she co-hosts her own podcast, H2OWorld, alongside Sir Robin Knox Johnston. She is passionate about charity work and serves as an ambassador for several causes.

Special Recognition

In 2013, Shelley received the distinguished honour of becoming a younger brethren of Trinity House, joining a select group of women and many notable individuals from the marine world, including Lords, Admirals, and other influential figures.
